The Odessa R-VII Public Foundation Board of Directors presented teacher grants on Friday, February 14, 2014. Eleven grant applications were approved. Grants (totaling $7,485.00) were distributed to the following staff members by the Odessa R-VII Foundation Board of Directors. Congratulations to these recipients: Tresina Alvested and Glenda Weber – McQuerry Elementary - $750.00. The grant will be used to purchase Think and Roll (for chairs), concentration cushion, cover, junior ball chair with rollers for special needs students in Kindergarten to 2 nd grade. . . .
During the February Chapter meeting, Jami Deters, a representative from Monsanto, presented a check to the Odessa FFA Chapter for $2,500. Lisa Williams applied for the AmericaâÂÂs Farmers Grow Communities Grant, and received the grant from Monsanto. The grant was to go to a non-profitable organization, Lisa chose the Odessa FFA Chapter to receive the grant. The Odessa FFA chapter plans on using this generous donation on various FFA activities and to help promote better future agriculture education in the classrooms. The Odessa FFA chapter would like to give a big thank you to Ron and Lisa Williams and the Monsanto program for the donation.
