Outstanding OHS Cheerleaders
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe JV and Varsity Cheerleaders recently attended UCA Summer Camp and both squads had an outstanding week! JV brought home several blue superior ribbons as well as 1st Place in Time Out Cheer! Varsity brought home several blue superior ribbons as well as 2nd Place in Time Out Sideline, 2nd Place in Xtreme Routine, 1st Place in Time Out Cheer, and 1st Place in Game Day Championships!
The Odessa Cheer Program was awarded the coveted UCA Banana the very first night!!! This award is given to the most spirited team/program each day of camp. The Odessa Cheer Program also brought home the camp Leadership Award which is voted on by the other teams! Each team nominates a team/program that was always spirited, made camp more fun, and is a team/program that they would want to be a part of. It is a huge honor to receive the Leadership Award!
UCA has a program called Pin It Forward. During the Pin It Forward ceremony, each staff member awards a pin pack to one cheerleader they feel shows leadership, spirit, commitment, kindness, and motivation. Once the pin pack is awarded, the recipient will look for another cheerleader from a different squad that exhibits those same qualities and pin it forward to them. Pin It Forward has become one of the highlights and most prestigious awards at camp. We had two cheerleaders, Cara Clemens and Madi Wulfekotter, receive the Pin It Forward award from a UCA staff member. Mikala Behrman, Caitlin Dillon, Mallory Ford, Gabby Holmes, and Sydney Shackles received the Pin It Forward award from a cheerleader from a different squad. There were a total of 20 cheerleaders “pinned” at camp and 7 of them were from Odessa!!!

We also had 5 girls make UCA All-American! Congratulations to Cara Clemens, Caitlin Dillon, Gabby Holmes, Lindsey Renick, and Madi Wulfekotter on their achievement!
