Hannah Scott

Sophomore Hannah Scott competed at the state level of the National History Day competition in Columbia on Saturday, April 25th. Her senior individual exhibit, Lucile Bluford: The Conscience of Kansas City and her Leadership in The Call for Change, took first place. Hannah now advances to national competition at the University of Maryland for the third year in a row.

Hannah was also the recipient of five special prizes: Missouri Press Association prize, Local History prize, Missouri History prize, Show-Me prize, Strickland African-American prize and the Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas City prize. Her exhibit will be on display in the Missouri State Capitol Museum during the month of July.  Please join me in congratulating Hannah on all of her hard work!
